Journals and Indexes

INDEXES:

  • Search CUFTS a search engine that indexes journals
  • Search JAKE, a search engine that indexes full text electronic journals in databases. Some listings provide dates of coverage, and others do not. Search is by ISSN or title.
  • The Serials Directory from EBSCOhost ®  is an index searchable by title: results include a title list of where journal is indexed.
  • Journals indexed in ERIC : "The comprehensive list of journals indexed in ERIC (from 1966 to the present) is organized alphabetically, with journals currently indexed in ERIC marked with an orange star (Current Journal bullet). The list provides information on journal title, ISSN, publisher, type of coverage (i.e., comprehensive), frequency of publication, and peer review status (where available), as well as a brief description provided by Ulrich's Periodicals Directory. The list will continue to grow as ERIC executes new publisher agreements." SOURCE: Education Resources Information Center at http://www.eric.ed.gov
  • Google Scholar "Stand on the shoulder of giants" - a free literature search database with links to full text.  It apparently indexes all of PubMed, PubMed Central, most (all?) journals in the Directory of Open Access Journals, and much, much more.  Google Scholar also provides citation tracking, that is, each article has a link to all articles that cite it.
