Message from the Director

Welcome, everyone, to the Libraries at Trocaire

We have over 17,000 excellent resources that you’ll find in print: books, journals and magazines; in audiovisual format, and electronically as e-books, through proprietary electronic databases and from our web page. We provide high quality resources and services; we have the information experts - - librarians - - to help with your research needs. We have comfortable chairs and sofas, providing a pleasant place to study, do research or just spend some casual free time. The Savarino Libary at the main campus is on the 4th floor, Choate Avenue entrance. The library at the Transit Road location is in Room 109.

Each library has Internet-accessible computer workstations available for educational research, and wireless access for personal computers and smart phones. Two of the Choate PCs are on movable surfaces for the physically impaired. The Libraries serve the Trocaire College community, the Sisters of Mercy, students from other educational institutions and community members within the Western New York area. The Libraries have initiated chat reference support through Ask Us 24/7. Link to this service from our homepage.

The Librarians and staff of the Libraries@Trocaire strive to bring our faculty, students and staff the tools and information they need for academic success. Our mission is to ensure that our users can effectively access  information from print, online and media resources. There are regularly scheduled library instruction sessions, co-teaching with faculty, two general studies classes in Information Literacy, as well as individual instruction sessions for students and faculty.

As a member of the Western New York Library Resources Council (WNYLRC), library users have access to resources held by the public, medical, industrial and other academic member libraries and library systems in the six counties of Western New York ( Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus). Borrowing is made possible through an interlibrary loan (ILL) network at no cost to the college community.

Enjoy your stay!
