About Us
The Rachel R. Savarino Library is located on the 4th floor of Trocaire College. The collection contains books, journals, video- and audiocassettes, newspapers, and the Helene Fuld Media Center for the study and review of health science topics.The Library has Internet accessible computer workstations available for educational research. Full text electronic databases such as ERIC, MEDLINE, Academic Health and Business sources can be accessed through EBSCOhost®. Other health related resources are available through New York State Library’s Health Reference Center, the National Library of Medicine and from the RRS Library Web page. The Library serves the Trocaire College community, the Sisters of Mercy, students from other educational institutions and community members within the Western New York area. All users must have a valid bar-coded Identification card. The Trocaire College community uses the college’s Identification Card. Other users are issued cards by the Library. Eligibility for library privileges is dependent on proper identification and no outstanding library debts. Library users are responsible to return Library materials in the condition in which they were received, and to return the items on time. When items are not returned due to loss or destruction of materials, the user is responsible to pay all replacement costs, overdue fines, plus a $20 processing fee for in-house materials. Recovery charges for materials borrowed from another library will be assessed according to that library’s regulation. Student grades and/ or transcripts will be withheld in the event of outstanding Library debts. Professional staff are available whenever the Library is open to assist users with their research needs, whether electronic or paper resources. The Library offers individual and group training on searching the Internet and researching a specific topic of interest.
