First Graduating Class of Educators ca. 1962 What are Archives?
"Archives are business records of an individual or public or private
entity preserved because of their value either as evidence of transactions and
or because of information they contain about people places and
things." COLLECTIONS This is a general listing of collections found in the Trocaire College Archives. It is not a comprehensive listing of all archival holdings. The list is meant solely to act as a guide for those seeking materials from the archives. COLLEGE RECORDS COLLECTION The history of Trocaire College since its founding in 1958 may be traced through its various college records. College Records holdings include materials such as Administration Records, General Academic Records, College Programs, and Departmental Affairs. STUDENT SERVICES AND AFFAIRS COLLECTION Included within this collection are records of student clubs, student publications, and student activities such as convocations, commencement and student government. GENERAL COLLECTION This collection encompasses Trocaire history, newspaper and magazine articles about Trocaire, awards received by College personnel and students, buildings, and college events that encompass areas such as cultural, social, and anniversary celebrations. AUDIOVISUAL COLLECTION Despite its small size, the audiovisual collection features slides and VHS productions of concerts, receptions, graduations along with Trocaire’s promotional CD. MEMORABILIA COLLECTION Included within this collection are such diverse items as pennants, trophies, glassware, and proclamations. PHOTOGRAPH COLLECTION Virtually every aspect of Trocaire’s operations, history, staff, students, buildings including the original Mt.
