My instructor said that the book/DVD I need is on reserve. How do I get it?
Reserve items are held in the library by instructor request. To access one of these items, speak with a librarian at the main desk.
A current Trocaire ID card is required. A photocopy of the front and back of your Trocaire ID card is the only accepted substitution.
These items may only be used in the library. Read the Reserve Materials Policy to find out more.
Do you have the textbook for my class?
The Libraries@Trocaire have a collection of the textbooks for some of the courses taught at the college. However, we do not have textbooks for all classes and many of the textbooks that we do have may be an older edition of the textbook that your professor has assigned you. If you have the title, authors, edition or other relevant information, you can check the catalog or ask a librarian for assistance.
How long can I take library materials out of the library?
Loan periods depend on the type of item. See the information below taken from our library policies.
|Books||28 calendar days|
|Media (DVDs)||7 calendar days|
|Serials (Journals)||7 calendar days|
|Reserves||1 day in-library use|
Where can I get a book that isn’t available at the Libraries@Trocaire?
There are two ways to get the books you need even if they aren’t available at the Libraries@Trocaire.
Through AcademicSHARE, current Trocaire faculty, staff and students with a Trocaire ID card can borrow materials from participating college libraries in the Buffalo area. Remember, any item borrowed from another library is subject to that library’s policies. Community users and alumni are not eligible for AcademicSHARE.
You can also request books through Interlibrary Loan. A librarian will work to find the book you need and have it shipped to the library for you to pick up. It takes at least 5-14 business days for a book to arrive at the library via USPS.
